QA Automation Engineer

📍 Remote🕐 Full-time📅 Posted 22 Sept 2026

We need someone who writes automated tests that catch real bugs and stay stable when the app changes. You'll build and maintain frontend and API test suites for clients across fintech, healthtech, and e-commerce, and run them in CI on every change.

What You'll Be Doing

Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests for web applications using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript.
Write automated API tests that validate endpoints, response data, status codes, schemas, and error handling.
Design test suites around real user flows such as sign-up, checkout, payments, and account management.
Use stable locator strategies and page objects so tests keep working when the UI changes.
Run test suites in CI pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps and keep them green.
Investigate failing tests, separate real defects from flaky tests, and fix the root cause.
Log bugs with clear reproduction steps, logs, screenshots, traces, and severity.
Manage test data and environments so tests run the same way locally and in CI.
Review test code from other engineers and keep the framework clean and readable.
Use qa-core-heal, the open-source self-healing Playwright library built by our founder, on client projects.
Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and release reviews.
Use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to speed up test writing and debugging, and review every generated test before it is merged.

What We're Looking For

✓At least 1 year of hands-on experience in test automation for web applications.
✓Working experience with Playwright or Cypress using TypeScript or JavaScript.
✓Experience automating API tests with Playwright, Postman with Newman, or a similar tool.
✓Solid understanding of HTTP methods, REST API concepts, status codes, JSON, and authentication such as tokens and cookies.
✓Comfortable with Git, including branches, pull requests, and resolving simple merge conflicts.
✓Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
✓Ability to read a failing test and work out whether the app or the test is wrong.
✓Basic SQL knowledge for checking data in the database.
✓Clear written English for bug reports, pull request descriptions, and client updates.
✓Experience working with remote teams across time zones.

Nice to Have

+Performance and load testing experience with k6 or JMeter.
+Experience running tests in CI with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
+Mobile automation experience with Appium.
+ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
+Experience with AI-assisted or self-healing test automation.
